Cloudbusting

My good friend Tammy flies in the clouds for a living, and I suspect this may be a common view. I think this image perfectly captures the fresh feeling of a new day, and touches an unreal, surreal landscape in the sky that is in fact, so, so real. (photo: Tammy Carrico Meigs)

Holidazed

Coasting down the slope at the tail end of this year, wraps some things up in neat bows, and finds new boxes wide open. I like the idea of expanse --a never ending road, if you will. It's the feeling of a promise to a very interesting journey.

I try to keep my eyes on the beauty of this world

but these realities just fill me with grief...

There is a beautiful sorrow

And then birdsong...
