I once went cross country. My father was newly stationed in Maine, so he bought a Dodge Ramcharger that Summer, loaded up the entire family (Mom, us kids and the grandparents), and we drove from California, along the coastal states, stopped in the South, then up to New England. An amazing experience, and probably one of my last favorite family memories before our lives broke down, shortly thereafter.
Focusing on the bright side, this road trip consisted of AM radio and a worn out Pablo Cruise 8-track that drove me nuts.
Pablo Cruise - Love Will Find A Way
Elton John - Benny & the Jets
O'Jays - Used To Be My Girl
Nicolette Larson - Lotta Love
I feel wanderlust kicking in, and another road trip must be had. Some thoughts on a soundtrack...
Freakingly warm Winter weather today. I wore too many layers. The air is rich, dank and odiferous. Everyone is out on the street, in full force, like the last days of Summer. It's funny how the city forgets the season so easily. Oh Winter, jilted lover!
It's only Monday, but I feel like I should be dancing on a rooftop somewhere. Everyone is restless, and a bit wired from the full moon. Or maybe that's just me....
to be cleansed, baptised, reborn... enter on one end, emerge anew on the other. i open my eyes in the rain to this baby year, feeling most optimistic for whatever may be.
